Multi-tasking Time

Make time.

Take time.

Hurry up.

Slow down.

Not enough time.

Give something up.

But what?

Life is a pleasure.

Life is a joy.

Nothing is dispensable.

More is better.

Even petting cats takes time.

Brushing teeth, conversing…

I want to do it all.

But one thing at a time.

Slowly

So I can savor it.

Army of Worn Soles~Cover Reveal

I’ve been fascinated with Russian history since I was a teenager and have read a variety of historical accounts as well as a range of Russian literature. When I first heard about Scott Bury’s new release, Army of Worn Soles, I immediately put it on my to-be-read list.

1941: Soldiers retreat across Ukraine even when their boots wear out.

Three months after drafting him, the Soviet Red Army throws Maurice Bury, along with millions of other under-trained men, against the juggernaut of the biggest invasion in the history of warfare: Nazi Germany’s Operation Barbarossa, the assault on the USSR.

Maurice sees that his job as Lieutenant is to keep his “boys”—the men of his anti-tank unit—alive as they retreat from the unstoppable Panzers and German infantry. When they’re captured, survival becomes impossible. Their captors starve them.

Then a miracle: Maurice gets a chance to escape. He cannot leave his boys to starve. But how can twelve Red Army soldiers cross German-occupied Ukraine without being shot?

Letters

DiVoran-Lites-Author

I have re-read the letters Bill wrote me while he was stationed aboard ship in the Navy in 1958. They are Letters to our militarypretty much the same as the ones Dad sent Mother in 1945 during World War II. I suppose a service person’s life can be full of monotony even in wartime.

Receiving messages from home or from loved ones far away is by far the most wonderful, the most exciting, and the most fulfilling thing that can happen for most people in a day or a week. Nowadays it is easier and takes less time than it ever has. I love paper letters, but even more, I love modern technology that makes communicating so quick and easy. Besides being where you can hold hands, what’s your favorite style of communication these days?

I enjoy letters so much I designed some note cards.

Book Signing at The Robins Nest

Recently I attended a family reunion in a restaurant. At the end of the evening, I decided to step into the restroom.  To my surprise there was a line including several of my relatives. One of my cousins said she would love to buy paperbacks of my books. My mom, the ever prepared Onisha said “I’ve got books and began pulling them from her bag.

Where is the most unusual place you have signed books or gotten a book signed?
