Mary Harwell Sayler began studying the Bible, writing poems, and loving Christ and the church in childhood. As an adult, she’s read the Bible many time in almost every English translation and led Bible studies in most mainline denominations. Since people often ask which Bible to get, she talks about our wonderful options in her Bible Reviewer blog but loves them all!
Mary continues to study and write poems in most forms too. Eventually this led to her poetry home study course, later revised as the e-book Christian Poet’s Guide to Writing Poetry followed by the Poetry Dictionary For Children and For Fun. For a small fee, she works with other poets and writers through her website but, for general help, she began the Christian Poets and Writers group on Facebook and the Christian Writer’s Guide to writing, publishing, and marketing as another e-book on Kindle.
Most of Mary’s writings, however, have been traditionally published by Christian and educational publishers. Her credits include 1500 nonfiction articles or poems and a couple dozen books, ranging from children’s novels and inspirational romances to a 7-book devotional series and 2 life-health encyclopedias. In 2012, Hiraeth Press published her book Living in the Nature Poem. April of 2014 Kelsay Books released Outside Eden, a book of Biblical poetry.
We are so pleased to have Mary’s work on Rebekah Lyn Books. If you enjoy poetry or wish to learn the art of writing poetry, be sure to visit her website Mary Sayler.com. There you will find a complete listing of her blogs and books.
