About the Book

web2-rossano-reward-finalShe couldn’t hide forever.

A hard life taught Jayne to avoid men, powerful men most of all. When a new nobleman arrives to take over the vargar, she takes her family and hides. But the new baron seeks her out and makes her an offer she can’t refuse: protection. However, once they were sheltered behind the dark stone walls of the vargar, who would protect her from the new master?

His reward isn’t what it seems.

King Ireic of Anavrea charges Liam, a former bodyguard, with the task of retaking and taming a corner of the northern wilds. Upon arrival at Ashwyn Vargar, Liam finds challenges beyond his military experience. The keys to the vargar are missing and so are the field hands who should be harvesting the fields. Once he finds the keeper of the keys, she raises more questions than answers.

Character Spotlight –

My name is Liam Tremain. If my friend Braxton were here, he would insist you refer to me as Lord Ashwyn, but I am not comfortable with that title yet. Most noblemen know their title is coming thanks to the fact they are inheriting from their fathers. I was awarded mine.

The king of Anavrea saw an opportunity to strengthen his support along the northern border with Rhynan by awarding me a recently defunct title due to the death of an earl without issue. Though, to be honest, I wonder if that was true. There are rumors and strange things happening around here. I can’t quite put my finger on why I have this feeling, but I have learned over time to trust my instincts.

It is Easy-Peasy to Gift an eBook

christmas-bells-and-star

It is easy-peasy to gift an ebook, unless it is free. That shoots down my fabulous idea of  an excellent and free last minute Christmas gift for the an unexpected guest.

I am not giving up on the ebook idea, though. There is an abundance of bargain priced ebooks on Amazon and Nook and it is incredibly simple.

Step by Step instructions for Amazon:

  1. Navigate to Amazon.com and search for Kindle Book Deals or click HERE
  2. Choose a book.
  3.  On the right side of the screen, scroll down to Give as Gift and click it.

You will then be able to choose:

Email the gift directly to my recipient (you will need their email address) or Email the gift to me

You can forward the gift email or print and personally deliver it to the recipient. This nice for the unexpected guest. You can also personalize the gift with a message.

If you feel overwhelmed with all the books on Amazon, visit my favorite site for Flinch Free Reads, Clean Indie Reads.  They have a short Q&A with the author and links to their books.

Instructions for Nook are basically the same. Just sign in to Barnes and Noble.

Of course, we would be honored if you chose to gift a book from one of our authors!

Faces in the Crowd

Review for Faces in the Crowd, by Mary Harwell Sayler

By DiVoran Lites

faces-in-the-crowd

I met Mary Harwell Sayler at a Christian Writer’s Conference in Titusville, Florida. She was speaking about writing novels and poetry and I was fascinated. She had so much experience and, as I discovered, so much expertize as a writer that I wanted to know more of what she knew

A kind of funny thing happened that in a small way started an ongoing student/teacher relationship as well as a personal friendship. Mary mentioned from the speaker’s podium that she had left her watch at home, so I stopped by our big store and got one that cost very little. Mary was gracious, as she always is, and made me feel as if I had given her something wonderful.

From there I discovered that she would take me as a private student and so many years I drove to DeLand once a month, where she lived. We talked and talked and got to know and care for each other. She quickly became my favorite teacher as well as my favorite poet. I haven’t missed one of her publications, and I appreciate them all.

I particularly enjoy Mary’s newest book of poetry, Faces in the Crowd, I identify with every line. The poems are full of humor, understanding, and pathos. They let me feel and apprehend what she is talking about. I identify with each one as if Mary had been looking into my life, and yet I believe every poem comes from a place of empathy and experience in Mary’s life, too. Her poems showed me how connected we humans are and how much we have in common with each other.

One thing I love about poetry is the insight, or epiphany that should come with every poem. Mary excels at making words pictures as well as at drawing deep meaning from every one. I’m so happy to be able to read her work and I’ll be reading Faces in the Crowd over and over again for a long time to come.

The Garden of her Heart

USA Today Bestselling Author Shanna Hatfield joins us with her latest release, a sweet World War II romance.

break-2

Thank you so much for hosting me today. It’s such a pleasure to be here with you!

We are excited to host you! Onisha is a big fan.

I thought you and your readers might like to meet one of the characters from the story, a rascally boy named Petey.

petey

Welcome, Petey. Thank you for joining us today.

Petey: Golly! Thanks for letting me visit!

You live on the farm next to Miko’s grandparents’ farm. What do you think of her?

Petey: Miko’s the limit, and I mean The Limit. You can capitalize that and take it to the bank, but she’s as good an egg as ever was laid. If anyone tells you different, it’s applesauce with a side of baloney.

You had some excitement at your house recently. How do you like your brand-new baby sister?

Petey: If Mom and Pop had to drag home a crying, pooping machine, I sure wish it would’ve been a boy. It looks like we’re stuck with Alice Marie, though. Why, you’d think she came from the royal palace the way Granny carries on. I suppose, though, for a baby, the Princess ain’t all bad.

Have you met the soldier Miko’s been helping?

Petey: Sure, I’ve met the captain. He’s a real crackerjack. Cap plays cowboys and Indians with me, and he knows how to do all kinds of things. Did you know he got injured in the war? Boom! (Slaps hands together loudly) His plane got shot down and he crashed and everything. He’s a real, honest-to-goodness hero!

That’s quite impressive.

Petey: I’ll tell it to the world, he’s the cat’s pajamas. (Petey sighs) But I think he’s got his eye on Miko. I planned to marry her when I grew up big enough but he might just beat me to it. I reckon if someone else gets to marry her, he’s the best man for the job.

Do you have anything else you’d like to share with our readers today, Petey?

Petey: Just to remind folks to read Miko and Rock’s story. You’ll find out how I get to be a big hero if you do!

Thank you for joining us, Petey, and Shanna.

Shanna: Thank you, again for hosting us!

Can forbidden love blossom

amid the constraints of war?

The moment the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, life shifted for Miko Nishimura. Desperate to reach the Portland Assembly Center for Japanese-Americans, she’s kicked off the bus miles from town. Every tick of the clock pushes her closer to becoming a fugitive in the land of her birth. Exhausted, she stumbles to her grandparents’ abandoned farm only to find a dying soldier sprawled across the step. Unable to leave him, she forsakes all else to keep him alive.

After crashing his plane in the Battle of the Atlantic, the doctors condemn Captain Rock Laroux to die. Determined to meet his maker beneath a blue sky at his family home, he sneaks out of the hospital. Weary and half out of his mind, he makes it as far as a produce stand he remembers from his youth. Rather than surrender to death, Rock fights a battle of the heart as he falls in love with the beautiful Japanese woman who saves his life.

A poignant, sweet romance, Garden of Her Heart proves love can bloom in unlikely places even under the most challenging circumstances.

Hi friends, Onisha here. I just finished reading this incredible novel. I am pretty sure it was the compelling story as much as my nasty night time cough that kept me awake for hours.  Miko and Captain Rock Laroux are characters you want to know better and root for while Petey provides humor and I loved his fiercely loyal heart.

Don’t miss out on this beautiful happy ever after. Get your copy today!

shanna-3USA Today Bestselling Author Shanna Hatfield writes character-driven romances with relatable heroes and heroines. Her historical westerns have been described as “reminiscent of the era captured by Bonanza and The Virginian” while her contemporary works have been called “laugh-out-loud funny, and a little heart-pumping sexy without being explicit in any way.”

Convinced everyone deserves a happy ending, this hopeless romantic is out to make it happen, one story at a time. When she isn’t writing or indulging in chocolate (dark and decadent, please), Shanna hangs out with her husband, lovingly known as Captain Cavedweller.
